Education, perspectives, and clinical insights from our practitioners.

If you feel tired and fatigued, you are not alone. We live in a fast-paced world and it’s normal to feel tired; however, if you feel this way all the time, it may be wise to take a closer look at the reasons why so that you can address them and improve your energy levels.
There are a number of reasons that can cause you to feel tired and here are just a few:
This is something most of us suffer from, although the levels range in terms of severity. Work conditions, financial troubles and relationship issues can all cause stress and it can affect both your physical and emotional health. This is a serious issue that must be addressed; otherwise, it can lead to illnesses and will impact your overall health. Try to identify the source so that you can focus on it and communicate your concerns to the right people so that, together, you can decrease your stress. Engaging in physical activity is a great way of eliminating stress, so try this as well.
This is something most of us are guilty of to some extent. Busy lifestyles can lead to a poor diet because fast food is easier to grab, although your diet will suffer and you will feel tired as a result. Whenever your body does not receive all the nutrients it requires, it will lead to an imbalance and cause fatigue. A healthy mix of fruits, vegetables, grains, protein and dairy is a must, so try to incorporate these food categories into your everyday routine. Cut down on sugar, eat the right amount of calories and drink plenty of water and you will see a significant change in your energy levels.
When your blood does not contain enough red blood cells, it results in a condition known as anemia. There are different types of anemia, including iron deficiency, vitamin deficiency, aplastic anemia, and sickle cell anemia, all of which can cause you to feel tired. It is possible to prevent this condition and you can do so by including iron, folate, vitamin B-12 and vitamin C in your diet. Foods like beans, lentils, strawberries, and dark green leafy vegetables all contain these nutrients, so incorporate them into your diet.
Exhaustion and depression are often linked because those who suffer from depression may feel mentally tired, which will restrict them from engaging in activities and will feel constantly tired as a result. People who are depressed typically have trouble sleeping at night and this can lead to a lack of motivation. A good night’s rest is very important, so if you suffer from either of these conditions, you should try stretching and breathing exercises to see if they will help or contact a doctor for severe depression.
